Gratitude has become the anchor that grounds me—especially on the hard days. Over time, I created a simple daily gratitude prayer that helps me reconnect with peace, even when life feels uncertain. It is a short prayer I usually say before bed and anytime I need a moment of calm or clarity.
While it is deeply personal to me, I know the power of sharing hope—so I’m offering it here for anyone who needs a quiet, comforting ritual. I’m also excited to share a free printable of the prayer, along with a journal I designed to help deepen your daily practice of reflection and gratitude.

Why This Daily Gratitude Prayer Is Important to Me
For me, gratitude has never been about perfection—it’s about presence.
I was raised Catholic, and while I’m thankful for many of the values I learned growing up, life has taken me in a different spiritual direction. I found myself stepping away from the structure of organized religion. But even as I let go of certain traditions, my connection to God never left. If anything, it deepened in a more personal way.
This daily gratitude prayer grew out of a desire to still speak to God, to express thanks, and to remain rooted in something hopeful. It’s not fancy or formal. Just a few lines I say at night before I fall asleep, when I’m overwhelmed, or when I simply want to pause and acknowledge a special moment.
What I love about this prayer is that it reminds me of what I have – even on the days when everything feels like too much. It helps me feel hopeful, especially when the days don’t go as planned.
It recently occurred to me this prayer might be something others could relate to as well. So, I created a free printable you can download and use in your own way—say it word-for-word, adapt it to fit your beliefs, or simply let it inspire a few moments of reflection.
And because journaling is also part of how I focus on hope and being grateful, I designed a daily gratitude prayer journal, available now on Amazon. Inside, you’ll find space to write out your thoughts, blessings, and a prayer list so you can identify the people you want to include in your prayers.
One note of transparency: the version of the prayer printed in the journal is one sentence shorter than the one I say today. I didn’t want to revise the journal just for that small change, but I mention it here in case you notice the difference. Both versions are heartfelt and rooted in the same intention: to give thanks and be hopeful.

My daily gratitude prayer isn’t perfect or tied to any particular faith—it’s just honest. It helps me focus on being thankful for what my kids and I have. I believe we all need moments like that, especially in a chaotic world.
